Recipe // White Sangria Jug

Recipe // White Sangria Jug

Who doesn’t love a big jug of chilled wine goodness? With the weather warming up a bit and Christmas just around the corner, this recipe is an absolute must! It is fresh and fun, easy as can be and destined to bring a little cheer to the table – whether that table is just you on a Sunday afternoon or the extended family banquet.  Makes 6 cups.

Ingredients

1 green apple, sliced

1/2 orange, sliced

1 nectarine, wedged

1 bottle pinot grigio or similar crisp white wine

1/4 cup brandy (or apple brandy – it is delicious)

Mint, a good bunch

Juice of 1 orange

Juice and zest of 1 lime

Angostura Bitters (a few drops to each glass to serve)

Directions

  1. Layer the fruit over ice in a large jug.
  2. Pour in the juice and brandy letting it splash around and soak into the fruit.
  3. Throw in the zest and mint.
  4. Pour over the wine and give the contents of the jug a good mix.
  5. Serve in glasses and add a few drops of the Bitters to each glass.
