Tidebound: Winter Dressing in Sizes 6 to 22 | Bohemian Traders
Tidebound, our AW26 collection, launched on 14 July 2026. It is a winter wardrobe of soft winter linens, cottons, denim and knits in rich, muted neutrals and heritage checks, cut through with a bolt of citrus, drawn from old maritime folklore, pirate lore and vintage garments, and like everything we make, every style comes in sizes 6 to 22. This is the story of the collection: where it began, what is in it, and the woman it was made for.

What Is Tidebound?
Tidebound is the autumn winter 2026 collection from Bohemian Traders, an independent Australian fashion house trading for 13 years. The collection takes its world from the sea as it was lived rather than styled: the wild ocean that answers to the tide and nothing else. Pirate lore, life on the water, and soft winter linen printed with sailboats our design team drew by hand. The line that runs through it is chart your own course. The campaign was photographed in Puglia, southern Italy, on Andy Csinger (@andicsinger), a friend of the house for a decade, and an artist capsule with painter Prudence De Marchi follows as Drop 2 on 4 August 2026.
“This collection is inspired by the sea, the version where you answer to the tide and no one else. Rich winter neutrals, then a bolt of citrus cuts through the middle, like sun on water. It's for women who have no intention of dressing for the occasion.” — Emily Berlach, Founder
Where Did Tidebound Begin?
With vintage garments and maritime folklore research. Before a single sketch, the collection began as a study of how people actually dressed for the sea: the weights of cloth that lasted, the shapes that let a body work, and the stories, pirate lore and superstition, that travelled with them. That research set the palette (rich winter neutrals, deep navy, muted heritage checks, then that bolt of citrus like sun on water) and the fabrication (soft winter linens, cottons, denim and knits with genuine structure). The sailboat prints running through the collection were drawn by hand by our design team, then embroidered and printed onto cloth.

The result is not nautical in the costume sense. There is no novelty in it. The world of Tidebound is modern pirates: romance with an edge, the open sea, a woman who answers to the tide and nothing else. Winter clothing with the durability and honesty of the references it came from, cut for now.
What Is in the Collection?
Nautical Embroidered Midi Dress in Navy. If you only take one piece from Tidebound, make it this one. Deep winter navy in winter-weight cotton, with our hand-drawn sailboats embroidered across it. Style it with black tights and boots, or tan loafers.
Nautical Smock Dress in Cream. For the woman who packs light and leaves early. The throw-it-on-and-go maxi in oversized cream linen blend, with side splits that let you move.
Sunray Maxi Dress in Citrus. A flash of citrus for a woman with no intention of dressing for the occasion. The piece that walks into a grey winter and changes the temperature of the room. Andy Csinger wears it through the campaign.
Around the heroes, the collection builds in families: the Blue Sails print across a shirt, circle skirt and mini dress; the Cleo check story spanning dresses, a blouse, shorts and pants; embroidered Sadie pieces in burgundy; stripes from the Sail Away sweater to long sleeve tees and dresses; crochet, denim and knits. The collection spans dresses, tops, bottoms, denim and knitwear, in sizes 6 to 22 throughout, with both fitted silhouettes and our signature oversized fits.
What Is Tidebound For?
The honest answer, based on what our customers tell us they buy: travel and the moments that matter. Tidebound was built to be packed. The heavy linens are the rare kind of winter fabric that works from an Australian July straight into a European summer, which is why the collection photographs the way it does in Puglia. If you are building a travel wardrobe that does not involve buying a separate suitcase of compromises, start here.
And for the occasions: a winter coastal wedding, a milestone lunch, the events where you want to look considered without looking costumed. The deep winter neutrals do what black tie cannot: they photograph beautifully outdoors, in daylight, by water. And if you would rather be the bolt of colour in the room, the citrus pieces were made for exactly that.
Or skip the occasion entirely. Wear the outfit. You are the occasion.
What Comes Next?
Drop 2 arrives on 4 August 2026: a capsule within Tidebound carrying original artwork by Australian painter Prudence De Marchi, translated onto cloth. Her story, and the story of how the collaboration came together, is one we will tell properly here on the journal in the coming weeks.

Frequently Asked Questions
Where can I buy size 22 clothing in Australia that isn't frumpy?
Bohemian Traders makes every style in sizes 6 to 22, in the same fabrics and the same collection, not a separate plus range. Tidebound, the current AW26 collection, spans dresses, separates and denim in heavyweight natural fibres, available now at bohemiantraders.com.
Is linen warm enough for winter?
Heavyweight linen is, yes. Lightweight summer linen is not the same fabric as the dense, structured linens used through Tidebound, which hold warmth, layer beautifully, and breathe, making them ideal for Australian winters and for travel between climates.
What should I wear to a winter wedding in Australia?
A one-and-done dress in a rich, deep tone photographs better outdoors in winter light than black tie, and won't crease into regret on the drive there. Tidebound's deep winter neutrals and structured natural fibres were built for exactly this occasion, in sizes 6 to 22.
Is Bohemian Traders Australian owned?
Yes. Bohemian Traders is an independent, founder-run Australian fashion house, started 13 years ago and still owned and operated by its founders from the Central Coast of NSW.
Does Bohemian Traders run true to size?
Bohemian Traders sizing compares to Country Road, sitting just slightly on the generous side, and most styles are cut for a relaxed fit. Detailed sizing information and a guide to measuring yourself can be found on every product listing.
Does Bohemian Traders ship internationally?
Yes. Bohemian Traders ships globally via DHL from Australia, so Tidebound is available worldwide in sizes 6 to 22. Shipping options and timeframes are shown at checkout.
Emily Berlach is the founder and Creative Director of Bohemian Traders. Tidebound is available now in sizes 6 to 22.
